If I'm well informed, since SP2013 there is no seperate PIDKEY for Standard Server.
There is only an enterprise license (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219627.aspx).
So I was wondering if it makes a different for the installation whether to configure the SKU (Standard/Enterprise)?
Diving deeper into this setting I concluded that the SKU tag is used to set the value for 'OFFICESERVERPREMIUM' in the config.xml.
In SharePoint 2007 this field is documented (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc261668(v=office.12).aspx). But as already stated there "Note that the PIDKEY used overrides this setting."
In SharePoint 2010 this field is left out the documentation (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc261668(v=office.14).aspx)
For SharePoint 2013 I'm not able to find a reference site for the config.xml.
Back to my original question:

Back to my original question:
- If installing SP2013, does it makes any difference if 'Standard' or 'Enterprise' is used as value for the SKU tag?
-
Is the SKU tag even needed? Or is it some legacy setting that is not used any longer?
