Looks like I managed to run ASPI with an typo in the username for the SyncConnectionAccount. Due to the typo, the account configured in the ASPI input xml did not exist. The script however did not complain and continued with the installation.
The output RTF does not mention the account I configured as the SyncConnectionAccount (neither as passing validation nor failing validation). The ASPI scripts indicate that it is meant to check this account, but looks like there might be a bug in the script?

Correct I don't believe it's checked but since you would not want to use CreateDefaultSyncConnection in anything other than a test/dev environment anyhow I never really worried about it.
