Looks like I managed to run ASPI with an typo in the username for the SyncConnectionAccount. Due to the typo, the account configured in the ASPI input xml did not exist. The script however did not complain and continued with the installation. Obviously the UP Sync part of ASPI failed.
The output RTF does not mention the account I configured as the SyncConnectionAccount (neither as passing validation nor failing validation). The ASPI scripts indicate that it is meant to check this account, but looks like there might be a bug in the script?
