(version 3.99.51, SP2016 SingleServerFarm minRole with separate SQLSrv)
We get an error in Microsoft SharePoint Server 2016, Installation Progress, Finalizing installation:
"Microsoft SharePoint Foundation administration tool has stopped working".
Examining the AutoSPInstaller log nor EventVwr gave no clue.
Killing the process, produced an additional error: "SharePoint 2016 Products Configuration Wizard has stopped working". (psconfigUI.exe 16.0.4318.100).
Seems like the best approach to circumvent this problem is:
1. Cancel setup,
2. Restart server,
3. __Windows Update__: Install all important updates,
4. Restart server,
5. Rerun AutoSPInstallerLaunch.bat file as Administrator.
(Cancelling setup…, restarting the server, Ignoring ”Windows Update”, rerun AutoSPInstallerLaunch.bat file as Administrator: “Nothing” worked!)
We also have an - maybe related - issue not being able to finalize psconfigUI, as described in another posting here.
